Latest on our new water tank... tank is operational.  Yeah, no more rusty water - fresh water to drink! Thankyou to all who have made themselves available to open the hall when the tradesmen wanted access. We do need to make the taps vandal proof.

Scout Centenary Postage Stamps will be available from February 19 until August 31, First Day Covers up until March 4. Get them at your local PO.

Scouts Centenary Celebrations - make sure you visit the NSW website frequently for what is happening. You do not need to log on.

Registration and Insurance for 2008-2009 will be lower at $78 per member. This figure continues to fall each year, in contrast to today's rising insurance climate. Due to the risk minimisation and assessments by Leaders and Instructors we continue to provide fun, challenging and yet safe activities for our youth members at unbeatable prices.

Get involved...it is your group and your kids!

Please remember...when your child joins 1st Grose Vale Scout Group, the family joins 1st Grose Vale Scout Group. The parents run the group; the leaders ensure the youth activities conform to Scouting Policies and Guidelines, and with parent assistance, the activities take place. Scouting is a family based organisation. The parents are responsible to ensure the leaders have sufficient resources to implement their programs.

...and remember, any parent can gain qualifications in the scouting movement. You can become a leader or instructor in canoeing, abseiling, bushwalking, sailing, powerboating, caving, canyoning and more. Imagine what your kids will think of you then. You can become an associate leader or a fully fledged section leader, at the same time receiving nationally recognised qualifications in Business and Leadership. Give it a go, you might even enjoy yourself!
