This item will become "available / in stock" 30 days from us placing our next order to our supplier. This action has been initiated as customers placing orders for custom reeds were expecting delivery 'tomorrow', when in fact we place orders with our reed supplier 3-4 times a year. When ordering their reed, if we had just placed an order on our supplier, it may be 3 or 4 months before their reed order is placed with our supplier. Given the current arrangement, 45 days is about the wait time after ordering.
Please allow AT LEAST 30 days from payment for delivery of this item. Does NOT mean it will be there in 30 days.
For looms which will not take the stock standard lengths of 34,44, 64, 84 or 103cm ...have you checked? Is it OK for it to hang out the ends of the beater a little? Will it rub on the side frames? No problem being just that bit longer than the present reed on the loom?
For non-standard / custom length reeds... general duty, 12cm high, stainless steel. Top and bottom rails are 15mm thick. These are custom made to the length you order. Remember to allow for the end bars on the reed for required weaving width within the overall length required. End bars are approx 12.5mm each and there is one each end!
After a reed which is not 6,8,10,12 or 16dpi? Send us an email. We recently supplied 22 dpi and 9 dpi reeds to happy customers
The length you order is the overall length of the supplied reed. Double check your loom will take the length you are ordering, in centimetres. Length is metric, dents per inch are imperial. We will not accept returns of custom made reeds where you made a mistake in measurements. Once you order this item, your order will be placed with our supplier. It is not possible to change anything if you later realise your measurements were not correct and the ordered reed will be delivered.
Enter the "quantity in centimetres required" as the length you require ... the price is per centimetre and is only available in whole centimetres.
NOTE: Although we try to supply to the precise measurement you request, the people preparing your reeds are only human so we add a little condition here that your reed may vary by +/- 5% ...
As this is a custom reed, YES, we can supply reeds of a different height to the standard 12cm. Reeds listed here are 12cm high for consistency. Need a different height? No worries, just contact Petlins and we can arrange that for you.
Also of note: custom reeds are non returnable and non refundable. Once an order for a custom reed is placed and paid for, the customer is committed to the purchase and the order cannot be altered..The onus is on the customer to ensure the reed as ordered will fit their loom. They have the tape measure and the loom - we do not!
